Upper Big Branch Mine, One Year Later

Charleston, W.Va. - With sadness, West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant today marked the one-year anniversary of the Upper Big Branch mine explosion, and attended the wreath laying ceremony at the Miner’s Statue on the State Capitol grounds.
“Today I continue to mourn for the families of those who were lost, and for West Virginia. Last April, I stood with the miners’ families during the long search for their loved ones. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of those who lost their lives so tragically,” said Secretary of State Natalie Tennant.
