Huntington, W.Va. -- Secretary of State Natalie E. Tennant joined with key lawmakers and broadcasting experts in discussing the reformation of rules that govern disclosure laws in West Virginia at Marshall University on Friday, August 28.
Tennant gave a detailed explanation of current laws in West Virginia, including which groups must file financial reports with the state. Senator Jeff Kessler (D-Marshall) and Delegate Carrie Webster (D-Kanawha), the chairs of the Senate and House Judiciary committees, also gave a brief history of the efforts to change the laws.
The Independent Commission on Judicial Reform had another meeting set for Morgantown at the WVU College of Law which former United States Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, the honorary chair of the commission, is expected to attend.
