Secretary of State To Amend Certified List Of Candidates Following Supreme Court Ruling

Charleston, W.Va. – West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie E. Tennant said Wednesday that she will amend the 2012 list of certified candidates, and remove Frank Deem as a candidate for State Senate.
The State Supreme Court today ruled on a petition filed by State Senator Donna Boley. The petition said since Deem and incumbent Third District State Senator David Nohe are both from Wood County, state code prohibits them both from serving at the same time.
“The court has provided clear direction for action in this case,” Secretary Tennant said. “Here was another case where the code was in question, and I will be amending the certified list of candidates to reflect today’s court ruling.”
The certified list of candidates can be found on the Secretary of State’s website here.
