Charleston, W.Va. – West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie E. Tennant praised the ongoing work of federal investigators, federal attorneys, the State Police, and her office on the work in the Mingo County corruption investigation.
Investigators with the Secretary of State’s Office worked in the field with federal and state agents. The office also provided essential election data and evidence used in the investigation.
“The Secretary of State’s Office has worked with federal and state authorities in other cases and this is a continuing example of our investigative efforts,” Secretary of State Natalie E. Tennant said. “We have a partnership with federal and state authorities to make sure that the people of West Virginia can have faith in the election process and confidence in their elected officials. As I have proven with previous investigations, it does not matter to which political party you belong – I will investigate every single allegation of election law violation and protect the democratic process from those who wish to chip away at it.”
