Beckley, W.Va. – The West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office is going “On The Road” April 6, bringing all their services from the Capitol to Tamarack.
The event, which runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, is the third “On The Road” event for the office. Similar events have been held in Fairmont and Martinsburg.
The focus of the event will be helping business owners file necessary paperwork with the Secretary of State’s Office. There are currently more than 3,400 organizations in Raleigh and the surrounding counties that have yet to file their annual report.
Organizations are required by West Virginia code to file an annual report, which includes information such as an organization’s officers and mailing address.
Failure to file an annual report would result in late filing penalties and if an organization doesn’t file an annual report by October 31, it will be administratively dissolved.
Staff from the Business and Licensing Division of the Secretary of State’s Office will be at the “On The Road” display at Tamarack.
Staff will not only be able to answer questions business owners may have, but will also be able to show them how to file their annual reports quickly and easily online using the website www.business4wv.com.
The staff of the Secretary of State’s Office will also be able to show citizens how to register to vote and answer questions about how to research a charity before donating.
