Charleston, W.Va. - There will be a few minor changes in the Secretary of State's Business and Licensing Division on the first day of 2011.
As part of the Secretary of State's business friendly initiatives, business owners will no longer have to pay a transaction fee when filing for a new business or annual report online. The fee has been eliminated.
Also, customers using the online system will now have the option of paying by check instead of having to use a credit card. This will be extremely helpful to nonprofit organizations that do not have company credit cards and only operate with checking accounts.
Finally, insurance companies and LLP's will have the option of filing their annual notices through the online business portal, www.business4wv.com.
