This page contains information about the current election, offices on the ballot, calendars to give a timeline of election related events, districts, precincts, and information on current candidates and office holders.
Calendar: Absentee Ballot Process
This calendar gives important deadlines for the absentee process and a schedule of when applications and ballots are received and sent. 
           
Calendar: Ballot Preparations
This calendar gives a road map for the details of preparing ballots that the state and counties will follow.  This area contains important dates and schedule information for ballot commissioners, appointment periods, ballot position drawings, and the publishing of sample ballots. 
Calendar: Candidate and Committee Filing
This calendar is useful for candidates for office as well as committees that may have to appoint candidates to fill vacancies.  Critical dates will be displayed here for filing for office including information regarding: minor party, independent, and write-in candidates.
Calendar: Municipal Elections
This calendar shows all of the critical deadlines and events that relate to municipal elections in 2013.  Each item on the calendar is listed with a date, description, and link to the corresponding West Virginia law that necessitates the calendar event. 
Calendar: Voter Registration
Voters can use this calendar to find out when the voter registration period end for primary, general and special elections.  If a voter misses the deadline for registration then they may be ineligible to vote in the upcoming election. 
Certified Lists of Candidates
Utilize this page to find out more about the names that will be on the ballot for the upcoming election.  There are also certified lists of write-in candidates available, and a link to a webpage with current candidates running for office.  
  
Constitutional Amendment
This page contains information on the constitutional amendment that will be on the 2012 General Ballot.  The exact language is noted, a clarification of the terminology is given, the text to be removed from the constitution is listed so that voters can be better informed before going to vote.     
Districts and Counties: Political Districts and Circuits
This is a comprehensive list of political districts and circuits in West Virginia including: congressional, senate, delegate, and the 3 levels of judicial circuits.
Districts and Counties: Precincts and Sample Ballots
This area contains a comprehensive list of all 1,866 precincts within each of the 55 counties in West Virginia.  You can browse by county, and the information within each link contains precinct lists as well as what congressional, senate, and house districts fall under each. Sample ballots are available under their respective county profiles.   
Early-Absentee Voting Totals

All combined early and absentee voting numbers are visualized through a graphical map, can be broken down by county, and are subdivided by party.  You can bring up previous early-absentee voting numbers according to a specific day by selecting a date from the dropdown menu.

Early Voting Hours 
Use this section to find out about local early voting hours and locations in your county.  Some counties have extended hours for early voting, and you can click on the map icons to find an exact location on a map.
   
Political Sign Placement 
The rules in this section are set by the Division of Highways, and should be noted when displaying campaign materials for political purposes.

   
Public Office: Current Candidates on the Ballot
This is a list of all current candidates who are on the 2012 ballot.  Clicking on a name will give you more information about a candidate in addition to a view of their campaign finance reports.  You can sort the candidates by several options and an excel export is available at the top of every page.
Public Office: Current Office Holders 
This is a list of all current publicly elected officials at the federal, state, district, and circuit levels.  All elected officials will have their party affiliation, next election cycle, and county of residency listed, while some will have links to their website for more individual information.
Public Office: Offices on the Ballot
This is a comprehensive list of all offices that are up for relection in the current election cycle.  There are descriptions, requirments, and term limits listed for each office at the federal, state, and county levels.
Supreme Court Candidate Profiles
This section presents profiles of the current candidates for the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, as required by state code.   

           
Vacancies and Unexpired Terms
When a vacancy occures in a public office or during the candidacy period, there is a perscribed process for each office.  Use this area to find out more about how individual offices are filled, replaced, appointed, or relected, and what government entity is reponsible for filling the vacancy.
