2014 Campaign Finance Reporting Deadlines

 

(P1) or (A14) Primary First Report and/or Annual Report

  • Covers all transactions from March 30, 2013 through March 28, 2014
  • Reporting period is from Saturday, March 29 through Friday, April 4, 2014
  • Reporting deadline is April 4, 2014
West Virginia Code setting the Annual and Primary First reporting timelines:


§3-8-5(b) Every person or association of persons required to keep detailed accounts under this section shall file with the officers hereinafter prescribed a detailed itemized sworn statement:
                 
(1) Of all financial transactions, whenever the total exceeds $500, which have taken place   before the last Saturday in March, to be filed within six days thereafter and annually whenever the total of all financial transactions relating to an election exceeds $500.

(P2) Pre-Primary Report

  • Covers all transactions from March 29 through April 27, 2014
    • Reporting period is from Monday, April 28 through Friday, May 2, 2014
  • Reporting deadline is May 2, 2014

§3-8-5(b) Every person or association of persons required to keep detailed accounts under this section shall file with the officers hereinafter prescribed a detailed itemized sworn statement: 

(2) Of all financial transaction which have taken place before the fifteenth day preceding each primary or other election and subsequent to the previous statement, if any, to be filed within four business days after the fifteenth day.

(P3) Post-Primary Report

  • Covers all transactions from April 28 through May 25, 2014
  • Reporting period is from Monday, May 26 through Monday, June 23 2014
  • Reporting deadline is June 23, 2014

§3-8-5(b) Every person or association of persons required to keep detailed accounts under this section shall file with the officers hereinafter prescribed a detailed itemized sworn statement: 

(3) Of all financial transactions which have taken place before the thirteenth day after each primary or other election and subsequent to the previous statement, if any, to be filed within twenty business days after the thirteenth day.

  General First Report

  • Covers all transactions from May 26- September 21, 2014
  • Reporting period is from Monday, September 22- Friday, September 26, 2014
  • Reporting deadline is September 26, 2014

§3-8-5(b) Every person or association of persons required to keep detailed accounts under this section shall file with the officers hereinafter prescribed a detailed itemized sworn statement: 

(4) Of all financial transactions, whenever the total exceeds $500 or whenever any loans are outstanding, which have taken place before the forty-third day preceding the general election day, to be filed within four business days after the forty-third day.

 (G2) Pre-General Report

  • Covers all transactions from September 22 through October 19, 2014
  • Reporting period is from October 20 through October 24, 2014
  • Reporting deadline is October 24, 2014
